Practicing Spanish with songs is a great way to learn new words and phrases while having fun, and it’s even better if you do it with a song you are familiar with, as it is the case with “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” in Spanish.
In this post we’ll review a Christmas song in Spanish performed by Luis Miguel (aka Latin America’s Sinatra) titled “Santa Claus Llegó a La Ciudad”
First, you’ll find the video with the song in Spanish, listen to the full song first and try to understand as much as possible.
Second, click play on the song again, and scroll down so you can read the lyrics in Spanish. If you stumble upon a word or phrase you don’t understand, read the English translation you’ll find underneath each sentence (pause the video if needed)
Third, listen to the same ƒsong in Spanish one more time without reading the lyrics and compare it with your first try.
Keep listening to the same song in the upcoming days (while exercising, walking the dog, driving around, etc.) so you can continue practicing your Spanish and your singing skills at the same time.

Here are the lyrics in Spanish and English:
Santa Claus Llegó a La Ciudad:
Sabes mi amor, pórtate bien
You know My Love, behave well
no debes llorar,
you must not cry,
sabes por qué,
you know why,
santa claus llegó a la ciudad
santa claus has come to town
él todo lo apunta, él todo lo ve
he writes everything down and he sees everything
y sigue los pasos estés donde estés
and follows footsteps wherever you are
santa claus llegó a la ciudad
santa claus has come to town
te observa cuando duermes
he watches you while you sleep
te mira al despertar
looks at you when you wake up
no intentes ocultarte de él
don’t try to hide from him
pues siempre te verá
because he’ll always see you
él sabe de ti
he knows about you
él sabe de mí
he knows about me
él lo sabe todo
he knows everything
no intentes huir
don’t try to run away
santa claus llegó a la ciudad
santa claus has come to town
santa claus llegó a la ciudad
santa claus has come to town
santa claus llegó a la ciudad
santa claus has come to town
te observa cuando duermes
he watches you while you sleep
te mira al despertar
looks at you when you wake up
no intentes ocultarte de él
don’t try to hide from him
pues siempre te verá
because he’ll always see you
él sabe de ti
he knows about you
él sabe de mí
he knows about me
él lo sabe todo
he knows everything
no intentes huir
don’t try to run away
santa claus llegó a la ciudad
santa claus has come to town
