Superman helps you Learn Spanish with Translated Trailers

There are many different ways to practice Spanish, and even more if you are open to explore creative alternatives that leverage interesting topics.

Today we will take a look at the versions in Spanish and English of the movie trailers from the “Man of Steel”, the latest version of the Superman story.

This is the recommended sequence:

First, you play the trailer in English so you know what the characters are saying.

Second, you play the trailer in Spanish and try to understand as much as possible even if you get lost in a few sections (don’t worry about the details, just try to get as much as you can).

Third, you play the trailer in Spanish one more time and scroll down to read the transcript in both English and Spanish. Make sure you pause and rewind as much as needed in order to understand what is being said in the Spanish version of the trailer.

The last step of this exercise is to play the Spanish version of the trailer one more time without reading the transcript in Spanish in order to comprehend what the characters say in the video. If you can’t understand everything, take a moment to go back and read the transcripts one more time until you understand it all without reading.

Read it to get started? Here are the two versions of the trailer:
