Hello. My name is Emma. I come from Santander, in the North of Spain, but I have lived in the UK since 2002.

My current youngest “student” is my 9 month old baby daughter who is already starting to say “mama” and understands some simple words, such as “adios”, “besitos”, etc.

vocabulary that is useful to our everyday lives, which

coincidentally is one of the best ways to remember new

words when learning Spanish for beginners.

By using these words in any context that is familiar to us,

remembering them will be much easier because we get

to see, smell and touch many of the things associated

with these new words (and those multi-sensorial mental

associations are much stronger).

Next time you go to a supermarket (even if it is at home

and nobody speaks Spanish) try to think of the questions

you would ask in order to buy all the things you need.

By forcing yourself to ask questions that include new

Spanish vocabulary words (even if this happens in

your mind), you will realize which Spanish words

should be the next on your study list.

Make sure you bring a little notepad with you and make

notes as you realize which are the words and phrases in

Spanish you need to learn next.
